Quinta de Linhares
It is located in the Vinho Verde Wines Demarcated Region, Sousa sub-region, in São Mamede de Recezinhos village, in the municipality of Penafiel. The vineyards was acquired by the Ribeiro family in 1999. With 17Ha of planted area, the main grape varieties are white, such as Avesso, Loureiro, Alvarinho and Azal. The red varieties (Espadeiro, Vinhão and Padeiro) represent about 2% of the total vineyard planted.

The climate is moderate to dry with low thermal amplitudes. Winters are not very harsh and summers are mild and dry. It is a transition sub-region, although it is not directly exposed to Atlantic influence, this influence is felt due to the low accentuated relief. The rainfall is slightly lower than in the other sub-regions (1300 ml).
The soil type is Franco-Sandy, rich in nutrients like Phosphorus and Potassium and low in Calcium and Magnesium, giving rise to wines with low PH and therefore more acid (3/3.2ph). The composition of granite origin gives minerality to the wines.
